This will probably be one of my last entries now before I come home. The last week I have been soaking up the sun in Huacachina. I confess that I haven't really done much else other than sunbathe, sleep, drink, eat and swim. I did however go on the dune-buggy and sandboarding tour again and had a great time. I even went down the really big dune that I missed last time due to injuring my arm!

On the tour I met a couple of girls, Monica (30) and Brenna (26), from Austria and America. They were good fun and I ended up playing cards and drinking with them until quite late one night. We ended taking their sangria that they had made up to the top of one of the really high dunes behind the hostel and sitting up over the lights of Ica and Huacachina. It was a lot of fun but not quite as much fun as coming down the dune afterwards!!! Rolling and running and generally falling all the way back down. After a couple more drinks in the bar, Brenna ended up getting together with a guy that worked in a really nice cafe down the road and Monica ended up trying very hard to get out of a date with one of the guys that drove the buggies! It was pretty funny listening to her bemoaning his gold tooth!

Last night there was a huge party out the back of the hostel for a girl who was staying there whose birthday it was. They brought in a DJ and drinks were really cheap. I got chatting to a few people and got on really well with a Brit called Lee who was visiting Peru for 3 weeks for a holiday. Again we ended up drinking and chatting way into the morning. Probably not the best thing when I have to get a bus today to get back to Lima. Not feeling on top form! Tomorrow I'll probably do a little shopping in Lima and enjoy my last day there. And then Sunday, its packing packing packing ready for the flight in the evening!

I can't believe how quickly two months seems to have gone although having said that, it does seem a long time ago that I was home. I'm really now looking forward to some home-cooked food, seeing the family and friends and Christmas!!!! 10 days until Christmas! Scary!
