After biking we headed down to the river to meet Kate. She brought a playboat and paddle board. Greag had his duckey. In downtown Salida there is a play park with three major waves. All of the populous of Salida was taking advantage of the water during these unusually high temps for June.
During our river trip we had to drop off Subey for a new set of shoes in the rear. The tires were shot. We were able to replace them with two slightly used snowtires for $85 for the return trip. The only downside.. the soft wwwwwwhhhhhrrrrrrr for the next 4000 miles.
I tried the Stand up Paddle board. I could definitly get into paddling one of those regularly on flat water, I am just not to keen on white water 'surfing'. Jason used the play boat that Kate brought, and then tried his hardest to SUP board. He has no SUP skills which is amazing considering he kills it in a kayak. I swam through all of the rapids with my PFD which is equaly fun.
We went to the boathouse for dinner and then headed to Gregs to get the rest of our belongings. We investigated Greg's hat collection and started our push through the mid west.
