Hi there *References to Amanda = Amanda Crammon *References to Mandy = Amanda Millar (thought people might get confused) We got the phone sorted so now feel connected to the world again. Yay! Yesterday we went to Alcatraz and Amanda took about 6000 pictures - so if there was an undocumented part of Alcatraz - Amanda now has a pic. The trip on the ferry to the island was so bloody cold. On the island the weather was all over the place - hot one minute and cold the next so we spent the day taking out jackets off and putting them on again. Alcatraz was a bit spooky - especially when amanda stood in one of the isolation cells. That said there were hundreds of people there so it was difficult to get a true feel for the place. Bloody tourists. Last night we went out in the Castro - the gay part of San Fran. The first place we went was called Mecca and was very similar to Slide in Sydney. Nice but a bit pretencious. The second bar we went to was a bit of a dive, but much more fun and less like a meat market. It was a dyke bar - one of the few in the city. Today we went to Berkley but Amanda was in love with a pair of shoes we saw in the city so we jumped on the BART (train system) and are now in the city along with a lovely new pair of shoes. We are feeling a bit jet lagged today so will probably head back to kelly's place soon and then hang out until we go out tonight. We are going to try to load up some pictures - so go have a look and see if we were successful.
