Bonjour! Just to catch you up on the happenings of my life, as of tomorrow I will have offically been going through the routine life of a student in France for two weeks. I can honestly say that I am adapting to the culture and the people and starting to love what I'm doing. The awkwardness of not knowing the language and learning to get around is slowing becoming less complicated and frustrating, and the laid back lifestyle the french are accustomed to is slowly wearing off on me. I am beginning to love my long walks to everywhere I go, and the long lunches and extremely late dinners. I must say that I desperately miss my many beaches of back home(not to mention my dear friends and family) however, I am beginning to love Europe and the many different people and experiences I am encountering. Language is definitely a communication barrier, and you don't really realize how important of one it is until you don't have ready access to it in order to make people understand you. I am heading to Bordeaux for the weekend with some friends to experience the wineries and beautifuly landscape and the return to Pau in time for Bastille Day(the french independence day, even thier colors are red, white, and blue as well!) as well as the Tour de France which will be passing through Pau on Monday. Can't wait to tell everyone all about it! Have a fabulous weekend!
