Day Eight: 100 miles
I had a bit of a lazy morning taking full advantage of the hotel amenities. I checked out at about 10.30am and then went to have breakfast. There I met a nice bunch of people who suggested visiting various places. So as I set of for Burnham-on-Sea we made for Dunston, a beautiful medieval town. Unfortunately, as on some occasion on this trip parking was impossible so we had to make do with a drive through. From there we went back onto the A39 to make our way to BOS. To get there you drive through Bridgewater. I actually didn't know that so many companies have their manufacturing sites based in this area. I arrived in BOS. Being on this trip I have completely missed the news and have no idea of what's been going on. A little boy, Dylan, had been taken by the sea only last Sunday so there was a tribute area set up for him. it was also an RNLI weekend (just like in Lands End) so they were doing a display with rescue boats being launched and then the rescue helicopter. Out of respect for the boy's family the display had been scaled down and it was more of a mark of respect. After that We headed off to Glastonbury. Very pretty. We stopped and I had a look at various little shops and then tried to find a B&B because the idea of a night in my tent did not appeal right then. however, not being able to find anything I then had to rush to find somewhere to pitch up. I ended up going the wrong direction but that was a very happy accident because I stumbled upon Bramble Hill Farm. A campsite with beautiful facilities and love touches like a complimentary cup of tea which you cannot appreciate how nice that is. The people are absolutely lovely. Well, I am ready to tuck in for the night now. Last day of travels tomorrow.
