I was up early today to do some laundry. It's already been 5 days! I can't believe going by so quickly. I'm going to be switching to a new hostel today because this one was booked up for the weekend. That will be an adventure in itself as we have to travel to the other side of the city on the subway (The Tube) during rush-hour!
I'm normally not a person who likes to visit museums but because I am here, it would be ridiculous of me not to at least spend some time in them.
I went to the Tate Museum and the National Museum today. Both museums were very busy. A few things I enjoyed were how realistic and intense some of the portraits were. They are so life-like! Their hair, skin and facial expressions are dramatic. I was impressed! The highlight was Vincent Van Gogh's "The Sunflowers". It's utterly beautiful. All of Claude Monet's and Renoir's were amazing too!
I spent the rest of the afternoon wandering through various shops and stores, treating myself to some snacks and getting a few gifts (oh, and updating my blog) This trip is very relaxing but hard on my feet and legs from all the walking!
I will evenutally post some pictures. I have taking about 800 pictures so far. By the end of my trip, I'm certain I will have a few thousand to go through. When I get to Spain, I will have access to the computer lab so, it will be much easier for me to post some of them.
Once we get settled tonight, we might just go out to dinner and get some rest. Tomorrow we are flying to Paris! The flight should be short, but it's a whole new city to learn about and get used to.
