Up early to squeeze in breaky before driver picked us up at 7 am to take us to Sihanoukville down on the Cambodian coast. Breaky was good choice but all the hot food was cold so we stuck to some toast and juice. Must remember to not get room on 5th floor as 6th floor is the rooftop dining and you can constantly hear scraping chairs and footsteps! Long drive through fascinating countryside after huge traffic getting out of Phnom Pehn. Even saw our first scooter accident. We are amazed you don't see more as the driving is crazy. Our driver Mr Chiwat was very safe and we arrived Sihanoukville about 11.30 am at Golden Sand Hotel. Big hotel which I don't like and was probably very schmick in the 70's but now a bit tired. Great big pool and Wayne and I have view to beach but boys triple room looks out to the back. Perfectly adequate. We are about a 5 minute walk to the beach. Got into our bathers and headed straight off to beach as quite hot. Reminds us a bit of Bali with beach food shacks on the boardwalk of beach each with own sun lounges (old) and umbrellas. Walked right down to end of Occcep? beach and sat at Argonauts. Kobe hired an inflatable tyre and we all had some fun on it ( as no surf of course). This attracted some Cambodian boys who were all intrigued with Kobe. He ended up with them down the beach with a whole group more playing volleyball in the water. Had a light lunch . Lewis and Liam both feeling a little funny but managed to do some bartering with the beach sellers for some bracelets and had their names also done in bracelets. Boys headed back to hotel about 4 and Wayne and I walked back along beach up into Serendipity Beach corner where we found a fabulous place called Above Us Only Sky which has 4 gorgeous bungalows overlooking beach plus a bar right on beach. Sat and watched the sunset and enjoyed a cocktail. Headed back to hotel then all out for a bite to eat at New Seaview Villa Resturant where we had a great feed and boys all enjoyed homemade icecream.
