So as you all know we have arrived safe and sound in Sydney! Arriving on Sunday evening meant we had time to just settle into the hostel (and this also meant for me that I could have an early night!) You have already heard from an earlier blog our little drama from Monday but I will continue on from after lunch! By this time Matt was feeling much better and like nothing had happened (he refused point blank to go to the hospital, so that was that!) We decided to go to the aquarium for the afternoon as this was supposed to be very good! And it didn't disappoint! We had a lovely afternoon here and as you can see from the photos we saw many an exciting fish! It was around 5 O'clock that I suddenly really started to flag and just wanted my bed! So we went back to the hostel and I had an early night hoping I would be feeling better in the morning, and Matt spent the evening on the net and reading me thinks!
It wasn't a great night as I was very feverish by this time, and so the next morning was, surprise surprise, spent at the doctors. $60 just to see the doctor and then it was going to be $250 for some pills to make me better?.well we decided against that because it was so ridiculous and hoped I would get better. That afternoon we went up the Sydney Tower after a relax back at the hostel, to see the amazing views over Sydney at twilight. This really was quite incredible, as all the lights were just going on and the sun was setting in the clouds in the distance! Matt decided we should go back to the 'chicken' restaurant for supper that night (it was lovely) and they were all quite surprised to see us back again! Haha.
Yesterday morning we were back at the chemist buying $250 pills for me to get me better as Mummy insisted! They are helping already though so I think it was a good investment! We then wandered through the city and into the botanical gardens for some lunch and a lovely walk. It was beautiful in there and had a completely un-city feel! Then all of a sudden the Sydney Opera House came into view, with the Harbour Bridge behind it, which was quite incredible! We had a look around and took some photos before walking over to the ferry quay to catch a ferry past the Opera House, under the Harbour Bridge and into Darling Harbour! A wonderful trip to end our afternoon! We went back to the hostel before heading out for the evening and on impulse I decided we should go to the Circus Oz at the Sydney Opera House, so off we went again to the Opera House to see if there were any tickets left for the evenings performance. And there were so, we had an wonderful evening watching the Circus show in the Sydney Opera House! Now how many people can say they have been to the circus in the Sydney Opera House - not many I bet! It was so much fun and it really did end our day brilliantly!
Today it is raining. How boring. So we have spent the morning in the hostel writing this blog and uploading photos! But this afternoon we are off to see some friendly faces! Adam and Alisa are having us over for the afternoon and into the evening, which will be lovely, so we have to go and catch a ferry to Manly, where Adam will be picking us up! How exciting! So we will sign off here and talk to you all from New Zealand!
All our love and kisses Tots and Matt xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
