Tori's Round the world adventure
Right thought it was about time i sent you all abit of a group e-mail/journal entry, as the weather not too hot today..... I hope you've all been keeping up with my journal, although i have to admit some of you are being a bit lacking on the communication front..come on guys....lol!!Although know you're all pretty busy what with work/uni life, but it's tought being a backpacker too you know-having to sort out what to do day to day.....relax on beach, scuba diving, kayaking....you know those kind of hard mind boggling decisions! Anyway still having a good time in oz although getting abit fed up with city life in Brisbane now, ready to head back to the beaches and try a few more activities along the way!!
Seen pretty much what's on offer in Brisbane, it's lovely don't get me wrong and i think if i was working here i'd be ace, as i'd have things to keep me occupied during the day. Nevertheless i can't complain the weather has been shining and the people friendly! Tuesday i decided i needed to do abit of exercise (my liver was inserious need of a detox too!) so i headed down to Southbank to take part in a yoga class in the park-something new-thinking i'd be absolutely useless as i must be the most unsupple person ever!i did actually manage to pull it off and it was a really nice start to the day! I have a bit of a walking tour round the city also, going to roma street parklands- a tropical rainforest/park/lake, it's right in the centre of the city but it was so tranquil once you got up there. You couldn't hear any of the city traffic, the only give away that you were in the city was the huge skyscraping buildings peering from the background. The gardens round here are absolutely beautiful and really really well kept-gawd what do i sound like!went to the botanical gardens and kangaroo point (over the otherwise of the river-which meant walking over storey bridge-not quite harbour bridge mind you!) You can do rock climbing/kayakling/abseiling over @ kangaroo point which is what i was hoping to do today but it was all fully booked
Had a wander around the city hall-has a amazing auditorium and i went up the clock tower to get a view over the city-although have to admit the view is much better from ground level-there was a huge mass of air conditioning units to be seen...!
Had some really nice girls in our dorm room over the last few days and we gelled really well, unfortunately carlie and kelly had to leave today to head upto rainbow beach (i'm gonna make a stop here now for a couple of days just to chill before my fraser island trip-as heard can be pretty heavy going! Met a girl from Ireland, shelly who may do the fraser island tour and farmstay in rockhampton with me so that's be grand if she does, but she's got a job interview in sydney so all hangs on that really! that's the hard bit, trying to find someone with the same schedule/time scale as you! but i seem to be getting on by and time is really flying by in australia, sometimes i just get so overwhelmed and feel like i'm not making the most of my experience in oz, but at the same time you can't physically and mentally do everything! Tomorrow i'm gonna go to mt-cootha with erin a kathy (girls from surf camp) for the day, and then on saturday we're toying with the idea of going to DREAMWORLD (huge amusement park!!) :o)
Feel like i'm waffling on abit again, as per usual.......
Best go-time running out....and i need to sort stuff out to send home-seriously everyone keeps joking that my bag is as big as i am!well actually we proved that fact when the lads in sydney decided i'd be fun to try fit my into my bag...no photo evidence unfortunately!lol!
Well keep those updates from back home coming......hows life at CVG???....
...o does anyone have any friends/family up the east coast???or darwin??
