Arrived in Samui after a short flight from Bangkok airport. Flying over the islands reminded me of the good old CIs (although) obviously with the whole trpoical paradise element! Booked a night in Lamai at the airport and took a taxi ride (in the rain!!) to our cute little beach hut which cost us 4 pounds a night. Bargain! Flushing loo and everything. Lamai is quieter than the main town of Chewang, but the beach is prettier and there are less tourists around.
Spent the first day lying on the beautiful beach. We now both resemble lobsters. The sea is so warm and we had a laugh getting knocked over by the waves. Met a bunch of German guys who were staying next to us.Went into Chewang in the evening where the nighlife is amazing. Ate dinner on the beach then ended up in Green Mango club with a group of South Africans who are on holiday. They made me drink buckets of Sang som again - resulting in crazy dancing and Jen attempting to climb this ladder thing. Hilarious!
Had a lazy hung over Sunday relaxing on the beach. Got a Thai massage for an hour then had a pedicure on the beach. Somehow seems wrong to pay some Thai girl next to nothing to scrub the dead skin off my feet but she was keen. The Thai women love us. They all want to touch us and I have never been called 'beautiful' so much in my life. Seems ironic when we are both feeling so unattractive all the time!
Went back to Chewang in the evening and both had jacket pototoes for dinner - feeling a bit sick after too much dodgy thai food. Then came back to Lamai where I watched Arsenal v Chelsea in an irish pub. Not the same without u tomo. mIsssed the 'best pub'.
This morning it was raining again so we went off to explore the island. Did some elephant treking then went to some waterfalls. Also saw some monkeys and a mummified monk! Finally stopped off at Grandmother and Grandfather rocks (the photos will explain - v rude!). Weather still rubbish so we went back toour hotel to check out and we are off to Koh Pangnan this afternoon! Samui has been a great laugh but time to move on...
