Happy New Year!!
Once again, life has been very hectic, especially as it is the party season, and i have been rubbish at keeping up to date with blogs. new Years resolution to try and update more regularly! I'll start back at christmas eve when we arrived in Sydney after our night flight from Singapore. Were pretty zombie-like all day and got an early night. Probably the first christmas day that I haven't been hung over in about 6 years! We were woken up on xmas morning by mat and jess knocking on our door! Was so nice to see people from home. Opened my stocking from Mum (thanks Mum) and set off to Cronulla, where Luke and his uni mate Ollie were staying, and apparently cooking our xmas lunch. Typical boys had got enough booze to get a rugby team battered but had failed to buy any food at all. On xmas day!! Unfortunatley Jen and I couldnt really drink as we had our bridge climb, so set off after a couple glasses of champers and very empty stomachs.
We were soooo worried when we were breathalised that we would be over the limit for the climb but luckily we got away with it. The bridge climb was amazing but so much scarier than I ever expected. The views were spectacular and luckily it was a beautiful day. Such a good memory for chrsitmas.
Boxing day was spent on Manly Beach with Jess, Mat, Ollie and Luke followed by a very very drunken evening playing kings. Managed to fall out with yet more roommates when we got back at 6am but was worth it for such a good night. The next day we recovered bvy chilling out in Darling Harbour and annoying Jen and Ollie with our Guernsey Banter.
Thursday Jen and I went to the aquarium and went shopping in the city. We then had an awesome night out on Route 69, a pub crawl/bus party around the city. Again, Jen and I were the only girls (for a change!) so lots of free drinks. Awesome! Went to the c*** and Bull in Bondi where they were playing Pez's irish CD! Made me very homesick! Quality night though!
Friday - recovered - again! Then went out with Jen's friends who live in Sydney who had come to Nottingham in the summer. Was really cool to be around some Aussies for a change. They took us to a party at The Loft and we then moved on to the infamous Scruffy Murphys (a 24 hour bar/club - my heaven!!). We met up with the Guern crew then moved onto Scubar where we bumped into yet more Guerns. Was seriously just like being in Follies! Crazy! The next day we met up with Soph from uni and went to Bondi to top up the tan with Jess (stinger), mat (Gigantor) and Luke, Ollie and Lorenzo.
New Years eve was a highlight of the trip so far. It was an amazing day! We all met up in the morning and walked down to Mrs Maqueries point with the rest of Sydney to get a good spot. Bumped into Sian from uni which was really nice. Queued for about an hour and a half at 10am but it didnt matter coz we were on the gin and champers by half past - oh dear! Finally sat down at midday with the most amazing view of the bridge and opera house. Met up with some more people from uni so there was a huge group of us for the day of chilling in the sun and drinking. Very sunburnt nose!!! The fireworks at 9pm were amazing but nothing compared to the midnight display which was breathtaking! Worth the 14 hour wait. Afterwards it was off to Scruffy Murphys where Jen and I danced until 7.30am and left the club in daylight. This was largely due to the fact that we had not been able to find anywhere to stay for either new years or the 1st! opps!!! Got pizza for brekkie then made our way to the campsite where jess and mat had a transit van to sleep in and the boys had a tent! All in all, an amazing day! New Years 2006 will be a hard one to beat!
Hope everyone had a great one at home or wherever you were in the world! Miss you lots! xx
