Geez I seem to be getting horrible at this. It's almost been a week since my last update. So I spent my last day in Saigon visiting the war museum which was really horrific to be honest. For the most part it was quite intriguing but it soon became apparent that the Vietnam war wasn't ended in 1975 as such as implied in the history books. So Hue was an interesting little place. We only had one day here so we made the most of it and got on an all day scooter tour. Our group took off to visit several monuments, pagodas, and museums covering Vietnam's rich history and agriculture. Was quite neat to see how they grow and harvest the rice, fishing, etc. Went out for one of the guys birthdays that night but unfortunately I got crook and had to cut it short. So my tour started on Monday. Got to meet all my fellow travellers. Quite a mixture of people. All Australians but have 2 blokes traveling separately that would be in there 50s. Another two guys traveling together, 23 and 29. An eccentric 60 year old woman who's already providing us with plenty of laughs and a 28 year old chick who's a lawyer. Spent 10 days in Phuket with my mate from school, Shaun before taking off to Vietnam for my tour. Met some great people from all around the world while out drinking on Bangla Road, the main party strip and home of Phuket's thriving ping pong shows. Spent a day out snorkeling and taking a speed boat to Phi Phi Island (5 x 225hp engines....insane). Also did a day out elephant trekking and white water rafting.
