We spent most of the morning slobbing at Big Blue in the heat before jumping on a pick-up truck to Mayoko Village.
At the new accommodation, me and Shawn swam out to the platform out in the lake and lay in the sun, whilst big guns Jack and Will attempted to canoe around us for the alleged free nights accommodation. Fair play to them, they succeeded but as you were both supposed to have your legs in the boat, the owner gave them both a huge bonus and upgraded them to chalets overlooking the lake for the night. Here Jack had the fan and the double bed (without me) he he had been dreaming of.
We indulged in Mexican pizzas at Mayoko (Shawn and Will smashing 2 out) before attempting a night out in Nkhata Bay.
On our way into the town in the darkness, we were followed on consecutive days by the dogs of the owners from Mayoko. They were incredible! Literally walked about two kilometres with us and never left our side!
In the bar in Nkhata Bay (think it was called Yizo Yizo), we were very much the outcasts being four white guys and three of whom in white tee shirts). But, the locals did love us and one guy in particular, Dennis, was drunk as a skunk and was chatting to us and trying to hang with us all night.
The bar itself was small with a lack of seating area and hardly a pretty picture - but it had a pool table, drinks for 130kw (55p) and some good tunes (even if the barman was switching inbetween serving and changing the songs!).
Dennis, the drunk, as most of the locals like to do, was holding Shawn's hand walking into the next bar! We were in stitches but I don't think Jesus Christ (Shawn - that's who he looks like), was very impressed. The next bar Sports Spot was as good as it got really. Two pool tables, the same price cheap drinks and about 40 people in there. I got defeated twice by a girl at pool (she was pretty good to be fair!) but did beat a local guy.
Got home late, Shawn came back around 5am and more comically, was followed home by one of the dogs that had followed us for the night!....That's what you call a Watchdog!
