Decided to go on a few kilometres walk to see a lake around the headland. It was as beautiful as the girls as had made out, with navy blue waters leading into the hills, sandbanks and palm trees and birds hovering around, even a lifeguard or two on duty. Surprisingly, it attracted more tourists than the white sandy beach just in front of it. It was a bit of a mission to get to, walking up into the guesthouses overlooking the horizon and souvenir shops trying to worm you in, but definitely worth it! People were handgliding above as we lay on the rocks in the water and I crept up on some sparkling blue bird in the lake to get a closer-up photo. Add the topless Europeans and it was pretty much bliss! Haha....
Chris had swam to the back of the lake, sat on some rock and inherited tobacco and a lighter but decided to walk back all the way around the lake, with me itching to go! On the walk back saw a stripy, hooded lizard. There's lizards everywhere in these warm countries, and what's fascinating is that they always seem to be different, excluding geckos which have just been on the walls of every building from Africa to India and so on!
Had a cheeky coke admiring the sea and then grabbed our bags and made our way for a double bus ride to Anjuna. That lasted 10 minutes as we got a serious bead-on, so random guy we called over as a taxi and paid him seven quid to take us all the way to our next destination.
As we drove through the village, there was Jack and Hannah on a motorbike. Wondered how long it would take to bump into them!
We hustled a room for 300 rupees-a-night before drinking a milk sachet and eating Cadbury's rum and raisin chocolate! Oh it's so good....
Walked to Jack's hostel to let him know my plans so he could avoid me, but he wasn't there and randomly some Irish woman was handing me some more weed to drag on. I made a complete ass of myself as I was talking to someone and dropped a load of ash on my shorts. Amateur!
Enjoyed yet another incredible sunset at a bar on the rocks about forty feet above sea with the Belgian stoner we had met on the train!
For tea, Chris and I walked the opposite direction down he beach which again had restaurant/bars on the beach. We indulged in a fantastic buffet of seafood and curry, crabs, kingfish and all sorts. I pigged 3 plates full. Wasn't very busy but a group of Irish were all extremely drunk providing heaps of entertainment with their singing, dancing and antics.
Walking home, a pack of crazy dogs approached us and were barking. I walked past them a little bit concerned but Chris kacked himself. It took a local's hand-made sweeping brush to deter the dogs and then it was our guide in the darkness to find our way home!
I got really ill in the night and could hardly sleep with the pain in my stomach. Guessing that's what they call 'Delhi Belly'. To make things a bit worse, no toilet roll....it's a good job we had a shower in this place....
