Tom - World Tour!
Just got around to updating our Mexico trip so here goes! We arrived in Cabo about midday and had the challenge of finding cheap accomodation amongst the beach side hotels. We found a hotel by chance advertised on the side of a guys old truck and after some broken Spanish managed to get this guy to drive us to the hotel! For just 150 pesos a night or 15 dollars, it was to be one of the nicest places so far and not the 800 dollar a night cost of staying on the beach front! Its only downfall was the route we had to walk to take us into Cabo, which took us past the Mexican bars for the locals where on a Sunday afternoon you could walk by and see guys drunk and asleep outside, be offered a girl for 100 dollars, some assortment of drugs or even a chance to experience a local Mexican prostitue of which of course we declined!! (no really!) We spent 3 nights in Cabo in which we experienced the club El Squid Roe and Zoo and one of the nicest bars on the harbour, Barometro and literally 'nursed' a couple of drinks! We checked out the beaches on the main front with the odd bikini contest to view which of course was a chore! We also took a water taxi to the 'Lands end' which is the most sourthern tip of the Baja which boasts some of the best snorlking in the region so we saw the sights and snorkeled in the Sea of Cortez and then crossed the beach and swam in the Pacific!! On our second night we also were invited to a mexican party which was for the managers of all the hotels in the region. It was pretty cool to see some of the more traditional dancing and drinking habits!! After Cabo it was time to head onto Todos Santos which was supposed to be one of the best surfing spots on the Pacific.
