Collected the van at half 9 this morning and it's MASSIVE! Long bases VW van about 400 times the size of my little Seat Arosa, so driving is going to be interesting! The van is fully equipped with everything from a shower and jacks to plates and glasses to a kitchen sink! Vicky volunteered to do the first stint of driving, so none of the rest of us objected! We drove about 400 km today and stopped off along the way for a really super swim at EdithFalls. We all swam from one side of the lake over to the waterfall and back, easily the most exercise I've done since leaving home! Sheila didn't make it all the way over and decided to go back, she was afraid of getting eaten by one of the freshies! Mark drove us from the Falls to Nitmiluk gorge, just outside of Katherine (s***hole!) where we're staying tonight. Its going to be a squeeze with the 5 of us in the one van, it means someone (one of the 3 boys I'm guessing) is going to have to sleep on the floor every night, but I'm sure it'll be a bit of fun! We're up at 7 in the morning as we've aiming to drive 650 km tomorrow, I should mention that we cant drive at all after dusk because it gets too dangerous with kangaroos, wallabies, wild cows, bulls, hogs etc etc all sitting on the road when the sun goes down so they can get the heat that the road absorbs during the day.
