We eventually woke up at 2.30 not feeling as bad as we thought. Lee woke about 10.30 and was still pissed so went back to sleep again. we made a coffee and sat on the bed chatting and laughing about the night before and what a pair if igits we must have looked but that didn't really matter was we just the had best night out ever. Who would complain if you had been given bottom less glasses of Moët. As we walked around our very tiny room we realised how sore our feet were, but excited as this was our last day and we was looking forward to it so we got showered and dressed and headed back off the MRT for another day of memories at the GP.
As we walked through the shopping centre we decided to stop for something to eat, we opted for subway as lots of carbs good cure for a hangover, which went down well but then we just wanted to sleep. As we was now familiar with the route it didn't seem to take so long this time to get there. Although we was moving our feet sometimes it felt like nothing was happening so we just had to keep pushing ourselves. We arrived at the Paddock about 5ish and fortunatly one of the first persons we saw was Mark who was just dashing off to a meeting so he quickly told us to hang around and said he would see us soon. We had a little wonder then headed back to the Red Bull Tent, (it's not really a tent but don't know what else to call it, but it's where everyone goes for food and drinks). We met Andy the young photographer had a chat with him about the night before and then Mark appeared. He said he might have seated tickets for us later so we was to meet him back at that spot at 7pm. We hadn't seen much since we spent most of our time in the Paddock Lounge so we thought we have a walk round and even go on the Singapore flyer (similar to the London eye). The view was amazing and whilst everyone was up and about taking photos Lee was sitting quietly when I looked at how white he was, OMG I forgot you don't like heights, and after a night of drinking he didn't look good. So after 30 minutes looking at the most amazing view of the circuit and Singapore we was back on the ground. It was time to meet Mark and as soon as we saw him he said quick follow me, so off we ran behind him when he introduced us to Annie an Irish lady who works for Ferrari. Annie had two spare seated tickets for the Pit Grandstand but we had to follow her over to the Pan Pacific hotel where the tickets were in her room. It took a good 20 minutes to walk across, but we did it. got our tickets and thanked Annie very much, said goodbye and back we walked. We didn't have much time as the race was due to start so we managed to find where our seats were, as we walking up some steps, Lee was in front of me and I just happen to look down at his ankles and there was all blood in his socks. When we found our seats and sat down I asked Lee and said he had blisters from the day before and they had rubbed that much his ankles were now covered in blood. He didn't even complain not like me when I'm right behind him saying - "this hurts, that hurts" moan, moan, moan, when his feet must have killing him.
Anyway excitement, the atmosphere was great and everyone was waiting excitedly for the start, we was all sitting with our ear plugs in as the noise was deafening as you could imagine. Katy Perry was on the track and we could watch and hear from the big screen an announcement from her. So the race was about to begin and that was it they were off. We sat for a while and watched the screen, then some cars came into the pit for a tyre change. We was a bit peckish so decided to get something to eat and drink. We got a hot dog, burger and chips and a bottle of coke, and sat down on the grass by the river. What a difference from the previous 2 days when we was been lavished with champagne and a la carte food, this was just as good as we could hear the cars roaring behind us as we sat there eating our gourmet meal.
We said we would try and FaceTime back home as everyone was meeting at Big Sister RonS for tea as it had been Daughter Sam an Niece Lotti's birthday. We found a coffee house that had wifi so excitedly we managed to chat to family whilst they could hear the race outside. Then it was all over, the race had finished and there was an very dramatic firework display. So we followed everyone across to the other side of the circuit to where Katy Perry was playing. When we got there we couldn't believe how many people where in this area, it didn't seem like all these people were at the GP. So we watched and listened to some Katy Perry then decided it would be a good idea to get the MRT back to our hotel before the queues started. So we headed off and got a tube from Clarke Quay back to our hotel.
So that was the end of a most memorable weekend and none of it would have been possible had not been for our wonderful friend - MARK THOMPSON WE LOVE YOU x x x x
