This morning we had to get up and sort out some evening foot wear for our night out at the Amber Lounge. This is an exclusive club and tickets start over £400. As we are on way to Australia we have tried to restrict our luggage and shoes and smart clothes was something we left behind in Ao Nang. Considering all the stuff we brought with us I cant believe we was having to out and buy something, but we didn't think that flip flops was something worn in Amber lounge.
After trudging around for hours as the shopping malls are huge and there are so many off them, we did get some very modest foot wear, but possibly not quite the standard that we would normally wear.
we returned to our hotel, had a little rest, them got ready to back to the GP. By this time we was familiar with the way so it didn't take us too long to get to the Manderin Oriental where we dropped some clothes off for later. We then headed for the Paddock and found Mark there. He managed to get us a pass again into the Paddock Club, so how could we refuse.
Noel Gallagher and Maroon 5 were playing tonight so we thought we just go and have a drink then go and watch them play. When we got the lounge the food was amazing, lobster, rack of ramb and a wonderful array of deserts again, so we thought it would be rude not to eat, so we stayed in the Paddock Lounge. The qualifying race coincided with Noel playing and there was such a good atmosphere we decided to stay in the lounge, before we knew it it was mid night and they were closing up again. We went down the Paddock found Mark and said we would meet him back at his hotel after we got changed. We sat and had a quick coffee and decided to set off to the hotel. By the time we got to the hotel Mark had already returned and was all dressed and ready to go. He looked very handsome with a very expensive looking shirt on, and I knew when Lee and I got dressed we would look like the clampits! mark left with his buddies and we hurriedly got ready. We was left instructions of how to get to the Amber lounge but as usual we got lost and kept going over the same spot but just couldn't find our bloody way. So at 2am we arrived in the Amber lounge, luckily it was very dark and by the time we arrived everybody was half cut. We got a drink (Moët Champagne). Met up with Mark, we got on the dance floor and there was lots of shoving and pushing, we had no energy left in us so we just went for it. Mark came back over gave us a couple of shots and we just went for it, we danced and laughed on the dance floor til 6am, people were looking at us I'm sure wondering what the hell are that couple on as we looked like a pair of loonies. Lee bless him although he has no rhythm to dancing just shook it all about the same as me! I danced like I have never danced before, but it was just so much fun, we laughed at each other so much. Mark left about 3.30 as he of course had to work later that morning.
So it must have been about 5.30 when the champagne ran dry in the main bar. There was a smaller bar outside so we went and sat there and had a 'terry top up'.
Lee was so funny, the toilets were along a dark canopied corridor and whilst he was was waiting for me to come out of the loo he was directing other guys the wrong way, up so some stair case, he was very pleased with him self and thought he was very . We watched a guy try to stop over one of the loungers, he thought he was quite cocky climbing over them, then he fell, got it climbed over it, then climbed over another one and did the same thing, me and Lee fell about laughing it was so funny.
So it was now 6am and after spending the last 4 hours drinking Moët, dancing, laughing and just having the most amazing time we knew it was time to leave. We carried each other over the Manderin hotel and luckily got a taxi straight away. I think we both fell asleep in the taxi. We arrived at the hotel at 7am,Lee passed out on the bed, I was feeling a bit peckish so I got my bag, put my IPad in it and headed for MacDonalds where I happily scoffed a sausage and egg mcmuffin with a nice cold orange juice. I left and sat in the hotel foyer to send a message and fell asleep and was woken by the receptionist and that was the end of another memorable day.
