Hello everyone we've made it to Ashburton in the south island! So i'll start where Anna left off!! We set off from the hostel in Wellington on Sunday morning about 8am, didnt know there where two 8's in sunday he he, and made our way down to the port checked in the and drove round to the loading area we were the first one there so after about two hours we were loaded onto the boat, along with about 30 camper vans and off we went! The crossing was fairly none eventfull but there was a godd cafe and accross we sailed, three hours later we arrived in Picton which wasn't quite Wellington it was kind of like Penistone by the Sea!! So then it was time to hit the road, now we had been told that it wasn't far to Christchurch and then we needed to be about an hour south so i thought couple of hours an we'll be there, mmm, well after about ten mins we were greetted by a nice big green sign saying 330km to Christchurch and it was nearly 2pm oh no! Luckily i attended the Farmstar school of rally driving which was a good job as the road for about the first 150km was like the film set of the italian job!! So off we went in the Nissan and arrived in Christchurch about 6pm and finally made it to Ashburton for about 7ish, the car did us proud 1000km in two days and it never missed abeat and only used a tank and half of fuel which amounted to about 40 pounds!! So we arrived at NZ Tractors, i was very plesantly suprised all brand new buildings and built on the edge of there 50 hectare, i think, deer farm. So we had a little tour of the farm met our hosts Grant and Anthea who where really nice! And then they showed us accross to our new home a one bedroom apartment built on to there office and garage all new and fully furnished "spot on"!! So Anna made the tea mm pasta again he he and off we went to bed! So before we knew it, it was 8am and time to go to work, which wasn't too much of a commute about one minute on foot he he and i met the staff!! Meanwhile Anna had to take on the role of homemaker, quite a scary thought he he!! So monday i spent helping assemble a disc plough while Anna went shopping to the bank etc. So then we spent the rest of the evening back at the supermarket tryin to decide what we actually needed for the week, and have since been back twice already and to a petrol station for a loaf, think we might have to fine tune the shopping situation but luckily its not far to town!! So tuesday came and i went of with Grant the owner to demonstrate the discs from the day before, that tested my NZ driving skills, taking to the road 3.5 meters wide and squeezing through the the town centre, while Anna went job searching and set us up a bank account, a joint account now thats getting serious he he!! So tuesday night Grant popped round and offered to lend us his laptop brilliant, this was really kind and got us back online!! So anyway Weds night Anna got the call and got told to go go down to the recruitment agency she had visited for 8am as they were off weeding, must admit i found this qutie funny. We spent the rest of the evening help Grant velvet some deer (removeing antlers). So here we are its thursday night here i've been on the road all day fixing a seed drill and a manitou, sure them things follow me round the world and Anna has been out weeding for the day so think it will be a quiet night to night he he, so am just writing this after a visit the supermarket he he!! Hope your all well! We'll get some more pics of the nissan flyer at the weekend for you all and keep you up to date from NZ!! P.s. spoke to my dad other day all my planning permission is finalised three years and a lot of work later!!!!!!!!!!!
