We arrived to Istanbul's rush hour traffic. Quite an experience. The Turks drive worse than Parisians but Salih got us home safe.
Andrea and Salih live in an apartment on the European side of Istanbul within walking distance of the Bosporus. Salih tells us that in a city of 16 million - 95% of the people in Istanbul live in apartments. The hills surrounding Istanbul are littered with ten story apartment buildings. Quite a sight!
On our first full day in Istanbul Mary and I went for a walk next to the Bosporus in the morning while Andrea and Salih did their last half day of work before they start their wedding vacation. Nice walk. Reminded me of the back streets in Mexico - fragrant!
Andrea reports that electric dryers are a luxury here in Istanbul. Very few apartments come with one. The balconies outside the apartments are equipped with metal drying racks laden with wet laundry.
Jet lag hit us around 10:00 am. We awoke from our comas around 3:00 pm shortly before Andrea came home.

Koray Actually in general we don't prefer the dryers as we have a general belief that they harm the clothes.. So generally most of the people prefer not to use them. On the other hand prices are very affordable if you need one.
