Hello Everyone, What a week it has been. This blog is only going to be about 1 thing. Those of you who I worked with at Npower will already know, for those of you that don't, I'll explain. Over the weekend my close friend Helena and her boyfriend John were involved in a tragic accident whilst on Holiday in Thailand. Out of a tour group of 8, including a 10 year old boy, Helena was the only survivor of a freak flash flood that swept through the cave they were in. Helena and John managed to get to safety, but John risked his life to try and swim with the current for help. I just wanna take a few minutes to talk about John, I'll admit that I didn't know him all that well, but I would of classed him as a mate. I first met John in the Barley Mow on a Friday night. I'd been mates with Helena for a while and she'd told me about how his dad was also sick with cancer. We had a little chat about our dads and how things were going etc etc and then after a few more beers, John started telling me about his thoughts on Gay people. We had a brief chat and afterwards I told him that I didn't care what he thought about me or my life, nothing was gonna stop me being friends with Helena. Overtime I met up with Hels and John more and I decided that they were made for each other, they brought the best and sometimes worst out in themselves but you could see they were really in love. The day after my Dad died, Hels invited me over to Solihull where we all get very very drunk and talked and had a laugh, really made me feel so much better than if I'd stayed at home, and I really appreciate what they did. Less than a week later, John's dad died and I went to the wake after work to pay my respects as well. After I came travelling, Hels would always email me and make sure I was ok and when I wasn't there for her 21st, she sent me photos and told me all about her trip and how it had all been perfect. When she told me that her and John were coming travelling and gonna be in Oz in December I was so happy, couldn't wait to see them both.............
Helena -If you read this then I'm so sorry for what's happened, I've been on the net and seen you on the news and in the newspapers and I still can't believe it's you. I'm here for you, even though I might not be there with you. Just remember all the friends you have with you, both at Npower and everywhere else.
Sorry if I've bought the mood down, just when your stuck on the other side of the world with no one who knows either Hel's or JC, the net is the only really place to talk.
