Well today was a huge today and it for Dad it started early in the morning when he went to Notre Dame to meet some people he met at the Peloton Cafe and they road around theChamps Élysées course which he enjoyed. He came back when we were having a late breakfast. Then we went on a river cruise along the River Seine which started at the Eiffel Tour and went all the way to Notre Dame and back. It was great to see all the sites we had visited from the water and it was really fun going under all the bridges, and believe me, there are loads of bridges across the river, I know because we walked across soooo many of them.
After the cruise we walked into town to the Champs Élysées and found a spot on the barrier to watch the Tour de Femme and Tour de France final stage. The girls were racing as we got there and we watched them until the end. It was great to see an Australian win the race, though we had no idea what was going on as the commentary was in French. We just heard 'Australia' and Dad had to check on his phone to see what was going on.
At about 4 o'clock the Tour Caravan came through and it was hilarious. There were all sorts of vehicles dressed up by the sponsors, play music and waving. It was a crazy parade and it just kept coming. Then at about 6, the riders arrived and we got to watch them (though I spent a lot of time avoiding the heat in the shady garden nearby) do about 7 laps of the Champs Élysées. Darcy was sad that Mark Cavendish was not riding but we were all happy that Andre Griepel won the final stage as we liked him from our holiday in Adelaide.
We did not get back to our hotel until late and had our final dinner in Paris nearby. I am not sure what my favourite thing about Paris is, I will have to think about it a bit. I will be sad to leave but looking forward to seeing the Hay's in Singapore and getting home to my friends.
