On our last night in salvador we drank with an American and two Brazilian ladies who were on a weekend break on the hostel balcony. They asked us to go clubbing with them. We agreed and said we would meet them in an hour, however we were so drunk that when we got to our room we both passed out and never went. They did invite us to stay with them at there house a few hours north of Salvador. We did agree but quickly changed out mind in the morning. After a walk around Barra we grabbed a local bus to the bus station (Rodoviaria) then a 6 hour coach ride to Lencois. Hoping to spend a few days here exploring....
After an 8 hour bus ride (not 6 as advertised in the Lonely Planet) we arrived in Lençóis. As it was late and unsure of where to go we took our first and only offer to stay at Pousada Casa de Hélia. The room is amazing with its own balcony, bathroom, hammock, free wifi and tours booked for tomorrow all cheap. This can't be bad! We headed to the town centre for a drink and some dinner. The coach ride was worth it! The cobbled centre is lined with cute colourful buildings and busy with locals and tourist. Back at the room I have a blister on my little toe pretty sure it's a snake bite. I popped it and it squirted on to Stevie's arm! So gross. We have leaf cutter ants out side our room busy working away. It's pretty cool watching them carry leaves double their size. Stevie's shower gel opened in her bag covering several items in Brazilian essence.
