10th June
Our 3rd day on the boat. It is really hot. Our journey has taken us down the Amazon river. Indigenous people live on the embankments in little wooden huts on stilts. Children approach our boat on rowing boats. Some people from our boat throw them food. This is common along the river. One boy held onto our boat as it passed. Surfing on his stomach. Stevie has been reading and sleeping after spending to long on the top deck, exhausted from the heat. I've been getting burnt on top deck, while cooling down under the open showers with Paulo.
Stevie's weird Brazilian friend gave us a drinking container as a gift. We don't want it, but we are polite at his kindness and accepted the gift.
We have been travelling for days looking ashore and trying to gasp how big the Amazon is. It's infinite.
It's cool to spend time with Paulo, he has introduced me to some of the brazilians on board. Muchos bromance going on. We shared food, ate together, showered together, sunbathed together even sleep next to eachother. He has even invited us to stay with him in Argentina. Writing this I can see why Stevie might be getting bored easy on the boat.
I took some amazing sunset photos of the amazon tonight. Kensai and I were on front of the ship. His face when he saw the sunset was amazing. He looked so happy.
Night is setting in and the lightning storms start for another night. There are several lightning storms happening around us. We tuck up in our hammocks and watch American action films in Portuguese with Spainish subtitles.
Thomas' obsession with the mosquitos grows deeper. He is in his hammock before the sunsets so he doesn't get bitten. This morning we woke up to find him sowing up the mozzie net as the holes were to big.
