4days on the boat. Stevie has read all her kindle books, there is no WiFi to download more. She has now roughly mapped out our route across the top of south America.
Our rations are running low. Thomas is sick in his hammock. Paulo has been surviving on Tomatoes that he managed to get from the cargo when we set sail.
Showering on top deck with Paulo to cool us down a Brazilian guy Paulo knows offers us some coco beans (we use to make coco oil back home) it looks like a nut but the inside is oilily. It tastes like coconut.
Early afternoon we approach a port about a day out from Monte Alegre. The boat docks and Paulo and I jump of the side of the boat in search of food. All we want is fruit and bread. After a brief search we return with biscuits, nuts and apples. No bread! We could not find bread anywhere. Paulo makes a second attempt and comes back with loads of bananas and pineapples.
A storm breaks out. We drop the tarpaulin to shield us from the rain. The wind is too strong to hold down and tie, so Stevie and a Brazilian make the knots. We are safe.
A coconut seller boards the boat. Paulo buys 5 and offers me one. The seller hammers a hole and throws in a straw. It's cold, it's nice, it's perfect. When we had finished a Brazilian guy shows us how to crack it open to eat the inside. We make a makeshift spoon with the shell to scrap the coconut off.
Stevie has planned our trip to Bolivia. I need to sign this off. We discover that we are now 2 days behind schedule.
Full of petrol the boat moves double the speed. The storm quickly passes and we are chilling on top deck again.
Watched the sun set with Stevie at the front of the ship. The views are so majestic and beautiful. We reenacted a scene from Titanic for Kensai. He loved it.
