After feeling rough yesterday, probably from the street food in Copacabana I woke up feeling a little better after a late night playing pool with Trent, Kyle, A Kiwi called Claire and a Texan called Heather I think. I also bumped into Lisa the London girl wet in Peru.
Ray, Begonia, Stevie and I ventured to the archeological site of tiwanaku which were some pre Inc ruins.
The site was split into 4 sections and cost 80 Boliviar. The first section was sitio arqueologico de kalasasaya. It was the biggest site which many temples. We went to Piramide de Akapana, the templete Semisubterraneo. The wall had different heads carved into the stone with a central totem.
The craftsmanship was really impressive. We then went to the most preserved site templo de kalasasaya, putuni and Kerikala.
Ray really wanted to go Piramide de puma punku so we ventured there next. The size of the carved stones on this site was impressive although we soon got told to leave when Ray started jumping over the rocks to get the best photo.
We all the oursite view done and the sun getting hot we visited both museums, Museo litico which house a very impressive 24" totem. We were not allowed to take photos but I took a cheeky few. Museo ceramico housed all the ceramics, pots, tools and clothing of this site.
All was very new and being developed as the site is still being excavated.
Around 3.30pm we headed back into La Paz, got out some money and booked a biking tour of the worlds most dangerous road. Should be interesting with Stevie lacking biking skills. Ray and Begonia opted out. Tour booked we headed to the hostel restaurant for dinner. The Chicken Tikka marsala went down a treat. Ray and Begonia went to bed for a while, then joined Stevie and I in the bar for the evening....
