23rd August 2012
After last night we were absolutely hanging. We woke up around midday. Both feeling sick we didn't move from the bed most of the day. Only to get drinks and go to the toilet. By 4pm we were westernised starving and decided to head out to La Cabrera a great steak restaurant that was recommended to us by the Germans. Forcing ourselves into the shower we got ready and headed out. This restaurant was some distance. It better be worth it. We arrived at this quirky little place that had mobiles of planes hanging from the ceiling. Two girls from last nights tango were next to us. We ordered a 600g rib eye steak each with a side of fries and waited for the magic to happen.
It didn't disappoint! I'm pretty sure we had a whole calf on our plates. At least two inches thick this steak was cooked to perfection. We didn't have a steak knife yet our knife just guided through it. Dark and grilled on the outside, soft and pink in the middle. The steaks come with 7 mini complementary sides. 2 types of mash, sweet corn in the best sauce. Shallots in red wine, peas in another sauce. Mini eggs.... The list and description goes on. The fries were severed in a mini frying basket. They were delicious. Still with the potato skin on they had a hint of fair ground doughnut to them.
2 large bottles of water later we both cleared our plates. One of the best meals we have had and would recommend this place to anymore.
With our bellies full we headed back to the hostel and back to bed!!
