I hardly slept last night with excitement; both of us couldn't wait to meet them went at the airport and surprise them, they weren't due to land until 8.45am and I wanted to be there for 7! Haha.
We watched their plane land, we hid behind a book case and just poked out head around every time we seen a person walking up the arrivals tunnel, we ended up waiting for 2 hours thinking something was wrong, the arrival hall started emptying of the holiday reps holding name places up, six planes had landed since their plane had and Scott had asked two people if this was the only way out from baggage claim - answer being 'yes of course' so we took it upon ourselves to have a walk around the corner to see if we could see them because the entire airport is open with just thatched roofs; only to find out that limousine buses could get out from around the corner; absolutely typical! They have drove passed us with out use realising, and we wouldn't have been able to see them because all the windows are mirrored. Absolutely gutted!! They would have been at the hotel expecting to see us and we aren't anywhere to be seen!
We went to our hotel to see if Ross had checked in and he had, same goes for mum dad aunty Lynne and uncle terry had left their bags as well, so we done a lap of the strip, I thought a safe bet would have been the Irish bar - nope!
So we parked up and headed to the beach, I had an idea they would go to a beach bar near to the beach entrance.. - result! We heard about 6 people shouting 'Beth Scott BeScccc Bethhh'
The drinks were already flowing and it was only 11am! We all had a good catch up and a laugh, the sun was out... For an hour until we the heavens open and didn't stop until about 6pm.
The 'Chang beers' kept flowing not keeping a track of how many we were having each! We missed lunch as we didn't realise what time it actually was until the complimentary nuts run out! Mum and aunty Lynne had already headed back to check in, about half four the men and I walked back to the hotels, only dad thought it would be a good idea to have give me a piggy back so uncle terry joined in and had Scott on the back of him, so this soon turned into a race... Me dad in the lead (we cheated half way) he put me in the back of a laundry basket trolley and pushed me down to the front of this plush hotel, all the locals were absolutely baffled from what I can remember of their face expressions! We lost Scott and Terry, Terry's knees had only gone from underneath him and he fell to the floor with Scott still on his back, Ross in the mean time was video recording it. I think that may possibly be the best footage we will have all trip! Haha.
We went back to the same place for food in the evening but had it on the beach, only trouble with Chaweng beach it's a little steep going down to the water so we were all on a slant! The wooden chairs weren't the strongest, mine fell apart just as I was about to put all my weight down on it! That would have been embarrassing with a dress on!
Dad had lobster, eager to try it before I ever bought one to eat (they're pretty cheap over here)
It was nice, didn't have much taste really other than the pepper and marinated sauce it was in. Scott even tried it and didn't mind it!
The thai man singing with his tiny banjo wasn't the best singer we had heard all trip, but hew a a trying and even attempted Elvis songs - no one compares to Elvis.
Again, the football was on so we went to the dukes bar and had a few drinks. There were three televisions next to each other playing three different games.. The three men sat gauping at the screens, even Ross joined in! What is so good about this rubbish game!?
