So my very first week of school is behind now and I must say that it seems promising! The courses feel much "deeper" and into the themes than in Jyväskylä.All the teachers seem to know what they are talking about and things just make sense all together.
I was also releived to notice that the level of language spoken in here isn't too dofficult nor are the levels of tha classes in general...at least so far I have been aware of everything mentioned in the clasrooms!
We won't have any exams at all but dofferent kind of assignmenst to weigh the grade for the courses. We have written essays, some seminars where we need to prepare things for and also some group works and presentations. The stranges type of assignment so far is a bsuiness game which we will be playing in the classes....I am curious to see how it works!!
I have also go a gym membership so now I have somehting to do on my sparetime besides of shopping...:P I have been to the gym already and it is quite good place really! At least for £25 what I paid for 6 months's membership!!The membership also includes sauna, steam room and jacuzzi...I ahve already tried out the sauna and it was pretty much similar as in Finland...the one big difference just was that there wasn't any bucket of water anywhere to be thrown to the stones but it stayed hot all the time anyway.I guess they ahve managed to make it stay at a certain temperature all the time.I also wanted to try out the jacuzzi but it was full of men so i couldn't fit in...:D
Now my legs are really really painful!I suppose I trained my muscles little bit too eagerly...;)
I have also been to the facial in a spa!!It only cost me £2,50 as you get 50% off the prices in February there! They are our school's students who do the treatments so that is why they are so cheap in the first place.I was lying there for about an hour in the gentle hands of Gemma, who gave me a total cleansing of my fave, exfoliation,a masque,a massage for my face and shoulders and then a good layer of moisturiser....it was heavenly....:) Next time I will do my finger nails!!
I haven't done much else this week....I will be going out shortly to meet some other Erasmus students in the other campus Cambrian Hall.I have just bought a bottle of Rosé wine for a good 3 pounds..(!!)....and we will go out to check another bar tonight called O Bar.(Like ou,not zero...;))
Tomorrow,on Valentine's day I will just go and have late lunch, early dinner, with other Finnish girls here at our campus bistro as they have some special offers for Februray too!You get two meal in a price of one and one meal costs less than £3.....After that nice, greasy hangover treat we will go to the cinema to watch some Valentine's Day soap...;) We and all the romantic couples.....
On Sunday it will be early morning! We must be at school at 9.00 o'clock in the morning for Warwick castle as the trip was cancelled last week.I am excited to go there anyway so it is ok...It is nice to go somewhere new for a change....some of you might know anyway how much I LOVE castles!!;)
More up-dating will follow.....
Cheers for your patience...:)
I think I haven't talked about my flat much yet.Well,it is nice and feels morelike home now.I share my kitchen with 6 other students. There are 2 Chinese guys living here,2 English girls and 2 other exchange students although I see them very rarely.....I know the other one comes from Estonia but I have no idea where the other one is even from!I alwasy happen to be cooking at the same time witht he Chinese boys so i know them best...:) Last week they offered me food and I tried really nice salmon on garlic bed!!It was delicious!!
I will add some photos here this time about my room...:)
