I have had some problems with my internet access but I hope it works properly from now on.I went to see a "personla nerd" again at school and he did some magic tricks to my lap top....I hope his spell works.;) Last night I realized how addicted I am to internet.Especially here I have nothing else to do in my little room in the evnings if I cannot surf on line!
Well, last night I had some other activities.I have now experienced my first real English party!Me and the other Finnish girls went Bar One,which is our local bar here in the campus!Yes,we have a bar/club here together with a bistro and grocery store...:D KOAS has so much to learn from these guys here....However,we just went for pints in the bar and found out that there was a real dance party going on!Music was so lioud that we could hardly speak to each other and they palyed mainly Britney Spears and other disco type of music there...:) It was interesting though.VERY INTERESTING indeed.First words with which I would describe the night would be BARE LEGS.If I didn't know better I would have been shocked to see those supermini-skirts and shorts! You can actually see their bottoms....not the hole itself but the bottom cheeks...:DIf I would try that at home and walk on the street like that I just wonder how many price requests I would get??
So,we had a lot to look at there last night.Next things I need to buy are probably a pair of really high heel shoes and a supertinymini-skirt.Have to go to Primark again....I also made my first real contact with some English guys last night. There was this one lad who came to talk to as and asked if we were new ones. Then he asked if we would liek to come and say hello to couple of poeople. So we went and I chatted for few minutes with a bunch of people. This one young lad didn't amuse me that much though as he told me that I must go to his room sometime for some drinks....well,he can hope for that BUT he was maybe 5 years too young for me...;)
One really good thing about Bar One is that they sell Crowmoor cider there and they sell it in pints...:D AND the pint only costs £1,88!!
We also found a really nice restaurant yesterday afternoon. It was a pure accident as we just saw them advertising a free drink with your meal. When we entered we thought that we had came to a wrong place as it was a real FANCY restaurant with white table cloths, wine glasses on the table and nice decorations. However the menu was very fairly priced, around £5-7 each meal!Very nice...;) And the portions:THEY WERE HUUUUUUGE!!!!!None of us could finish our plates off! More surprises were still to come when I went to the ladies room. There was this machine on the wall which sold small portions of perfume for £1 and there was for example Versace perfume...;)
After the "Bushwacker" restaurant we went for another tour around the city centre. We made Bullring shopping centre a bit more familiar by walking around the each floor there.Even bigger surprises were to come when we entered Selfridges department store. They had this section for cafeterias and small restaurants there and they also sold exotic foods there. The most exotic items we could find were oven-baked tarantulas and monkey picked tea...:D Yes,as it's name says the tea leaves were picked by specially trained monkeys!!!I will add pictures of these wrappings and there you can also see the tarantula!!
Next spot we saw was the ice cream bar...I think there is no need to say really how big were those portions. If someone will be able to eat that alone, well,it means that you have a serious problem...:/ I also found giant lollipops and a liqeur store where they had different mixtures of liqeurs and coctails in the big bittles on the shelves and you could actually poor them to the smaller bottles by yourself...
Is Finland really such a small country far far away so that all these things are really so exotic for us here??Seems so...:D
