Early rise and thanks to Kirsten for driving us to the airport (and squeezing our bags into your car!)
The fun started at the Check In Counter when the Customer Service Officer asked if Hannah & Maddy were twins (2 angry girls!!!) but fantastic service Virgin she seated us accross a whole isle and blocked off the empty seats so 6 seats for 4 people NICE!
After a uneventful 2 1/2hrs of flying, banana bread, toblerone and cheese and crackers we looked out the windows to see the most amazing sight. Snow capped mountains everywhere and so close to the ocean (Check out the Album pics uploaded).
The landing was another first for the girls... looking out the window the runway at Dunedin runs between farm paddocks and cows.
Learning number 2 for Jenny... when you take prescription medication internationally either keep the packet with the label and your name on it or have a letter from your GP. Customs dont take too kindly to unnamed prescription drugs coming into NZ. (thinking i might feature on the next episode of Boarder Patrol)
After clearing customs and quaranteen it was 4pm local time so we took a quick drive along the coast to check out the local sights.
Larnach Castle (pic shown)- Was on the radar but after turning into the driveway to be met with a security gaurd wanting $36 entry fee for 20minutes before closing we moved on.
Looking forward to a nice steak for Dinner.
Thank God for Electric Blankets!!!
PS Steve B this ones for you "THE BOG" Irish Bar lol
