Wow what a great day we've had at San Diego Zoo. It's a huge zoo inside a park with lots of trees that makes it look very natural. First we went on the zoo bus tour to check out where our favourite animals were located, also it showed you 70% of the zoo.then we set out on foot to visit our favourites, it's so big we couldn't see them all. The first animals we saw were the koalas, unfortunately they were all asleep but one was curled up in a ball, check out the photo album San Diego to see him and some of the other animals. We then saw a rhino, giraffes (there was a baby one born in December 2013!), kangaroos, and wombats. I really wanted to see the pandas so we queued 40 minutes to see them, the first one was asleep and we only saw it's rear end and the second asleep again but at least we saw it's face. Dad wanted to see the big cats so we went on the big cat trail, we saw linx, jaguars, Amur leopard and snow leopard. Snow Leopards are incredible animals we could watch them for hours. After that we went to the elephants, there were Asian and African elephants in the same enclosure and we had our picture taken in front of them. Once we had done that we went to the polar bear section, we saw one snoozing under a rock. There was a scale that measured what age polar bear you weighed in at, I was only a 3 month old cub! Then we went on a cable car that took you over the park to near the entrance. Because we did not see them on the bus we then walked the monkey trail. There were many different types of monkeys including some with blue and red noses! We wanted to see the orangutang but when we got there there was not one in sight, so that was a bit of a disappointment. After that we went to the hotel and had a swim before going to dinner.
