My day started with an awesome run down along the docks up to Fishermans Wharf then up through cable car territory (i.e. Steep!). Went through the famous Lombard switchback street then back home to wake up the crew.
We wandered into Union Square but found the shopping to be a tad pricey. After wandering around a bit we joined the massive queue for the cable car. We decided waiting for food at the wharf was likely to see us much skinnier, so we decided to gobble Burger King then rejoin the queue. Wasn't too bad.
The cable car was good, but crowded, but got us the the wharf for a good wander, a bit of tourist shopping, and a surprise bit of fun in a living arcade game museum. All the really old school mechanical games and horoscopes etc plus all the early tech games like Pacman. 25c or 50c a go! We all had our fortune read, and it looks I'll be paying off this trip for the next two lifetimes after all....
Wandered the wharves, saw the sea lions, Alcatraz, Golden Gate and Bay bridges, had a huge ice cream and a ride on a tram before joining the hour long queue for a cable car home. Unfortunately the cable stopped, the car emptied, and we sat with the driver until they fixed it. Left us with the car to ourselves! Bonus! Oh, and it's freezing cold and windy, so even I was happy to head into the shops .... for a while..... Even warmth gets devalued after a while!!!
A pretty good day overall. Got to see lots of the views of San Francisco, weather has been kind and we've almost filled up the suitcases so the shopping will hopefully wind down..... :-)
Tomorrow - more wanderings then Alcatraz.

Joe Michael Oh, Paul, Paul, Paul. Four women to one - the shopping ....zzzzz.... will never wind down! It's not the trip you will be paying off for a lifetime. It's the excess baggage! Keep count of the suitcases...watch them grow overnight.....
Adrian Hi Paul I hope the holiday is going well. It sounds exciting as each place you go is becoming your favorite. Lily and Maxliked the picture on the frozen lake, although Lily thought it was dangerous. I sold my car tonight and am looking at a Pajero like yours on gas or diesel. If i don't have a car for a few days, do you mind if I use yours? I was hoping to call you and ask, as it has all happened rather quickly. What is the best number to get you on? Love Adrian,Tori, Max, Lily and Harry
