Said goodbye to the beautiful boabs and crossed the border into 'The Top End'.
Ran into Mike and his wife Stroma at the Timber Creek roadhouse, his daughter had a bouncing baby boy.
Drove straight through Katherine to the Nitmiluk National Park. The visitors centre was very impressive and over looks the Katherine River. It is a national park with all the extras, a tropical pool (unfortunately closed for maintenance), bar and restaurant.
Our evening entertainment was watching hundreds of bats fly over and some very inquisitive wallabies who wanted to join us for dinner.
Woken up in the middle of the night by a crashing thud under the trailer. A rather large wallaby was trying to make off with our cereal container. Took a lot of encouragement to coax him to give it back.
Next day the idea of a river cruise was dashed, all booked out. No luck with the canoes either, each child had to be accompanied by an adult so climbed to the lookout instead.
Another day here would have been perfect, so much still to see but running out of time!
