Day 16 - by Brett
We all had a lovely sleep at Castle De Campbell. Although initially we had a problem as Porter couldn't sleep in a pink bed. I was up at 7am to find all three children already awake due to the excitement of seeing their cousins. We then headed in to the CBD as the youngest two boys still had some pocket money that was burning a hole in their pocket. Apparently Laura also still had some pocket money left. Surprisingly a hat was not purchased. The highlight of the shopping trip was when we turned a corner and lo and behold we were facing a Muffin Break store - Laura's favourite coffee shop. It was like a scene from a movie, everything went in to slo-motion, heavenly lights from above shone down on the store, and I'm sure I heard a choir rise in to chorus. A coffee was ordered and a tear formed when the 'coffee queen' handed over her VIP card. Said tear then ran down Laura's cheek upon the first sip. It was a beautiful moment. It was around this time that Laura started calling me an unflattering name which was a little surprising. We headed south for a bit of sight seeing. Still, the name calling continued. Grabbed some lunch, more name calling. It wasn't until I noticed a sign on the side of the road directing us to Kiama that I realised my mistake in regards to the name calling. Kiama has a natural blowhole. Due to the recent bad weather in the area the sea was quite turbulent therefore making the blowhole very impressive, the kids loved it. We hung around Kiama for a couple of hours then headed back to the 'Gong. Caught up with the other Campbell's, the Moose Clan and sat around shooting the proverbial like old times in the garage just like home. You can take the boys out of the borough, but can't take the borough out of the boys. Good times.
