So, we have completed our first full day in Hong Kong. We spent most of our time on the island of Hong Kong. We got an early start and walked around central and the admiralty.
We then went up the peak tram. Which is a funicular that goes up the mountain that Hong Kong is built beside and on we got a great view of the city from up there and across the harbour to kowloon.
We then walked around all the things at the top. Mostly shops. Then we went back down and walked back throught central and went the mid level escalators. This is the longest system of escalators in the world. Esentially, it is used as public transit. People travel from downtown aka the base of the mountain, to the residential areas half way up the mountain. There are various places to get off. It runs down hill 7am to 10am and uphill the rest of the time. Its pretty slick. We went to the top and slowly becended having a drink in soho and walking through the antiques and rresh food market. The fresh food market reminded me I was in asia with the live fish in bowels and unrefridgerated meat.
We then walked along the water front taking in parts of another mall and the waterfront. Webthen took the star ferry with its great views to kowloon. We walked along the water front and the walk of fame and statues before coming back to the hotel for a brief respite.
We then went out for supper and got fitted for suits... I spent too much I feel like at least... but I suppose the last time I bought suits was 2010 spring... I suppose I just built up the money and spent it all at once.
Anyway, now we are back at the hotel. Fred is snoring away and I am trying to stay up a little later t8 get my internal clock back on schedule.
