So I am not in hanoi.... but the app wont accept hong kong.
So I arrived no worse for wear. I guess my workout routibes have shrunk me a bit as I do fit in an airline seat less uncomfortably now.
Anyway, I arrived around 1245 and it took about 2 hours to collect luggage and make it to the hotel, which was suprisingly easy to find. The view from our hotel room is pretty good. We are onthe opposite side of the harbour from Hong Kong so we actually get to view a significant portion of the sky line.
After dropping my bags at the hotel I then went out to Sha Tin, to see the ten thousand Buddha monestary. I climbed a tall hill up to the mobestary that was lined with Buddhas k then checked out the temple complex. It was supposed to be remote and quiet. It was far less hectic then the rest of china but I still did not even bother trying tontake people free photos. It was interesting but not mind blowing. I had expected a lot of odd bhudas but I was disappointed.
I then explored around sha tin... including a mall, an arts and crafts fair, the park around the river. I had supper in a chinese restaurant of white rice, sweet and sour pork that was remarkable similar to my sweet and sour pork with pinapple other then the light batter on thier pork was more crispy.
Anyway, I then came back to the hotel and watched some news apparently there were more riots today... and one was one stop from sha tin. I then checked email.... and sent a couple messages to fred, and finally watched the 8pm liggt show on the hong kong skyline. Then hit the hay around 830. Fred arrived around 1am... we had a brief chat and then we went to sleep.
