I guess I should start off with a bit about us. Kylie and I live in Perth WA and have been together for about 20 years now, only married for 9 and we have two beautiful kids Hayley and Benjamin. We also have 2 lovely dogs Kira and Jet, one old girl and one young fella!
Our vehicle is "Rosie" a 2003 HDJ100R Landcruiser which we bought in early 2011 when it was decided that the "Pathy" just wasn't big enough for the family any more. We love this car (we tend to get very attached to our vehicles) just as we did the Pathy before hand and the Jackeroo before that.
Rosie is very well equipped ,hence the name from the AC/DC song "Whole lotta Rosie"! So we want to start to get out and about more with the idea of getting some "big trips" under us. In the past we have been to Peaceful Bay, Exmouth (several times over the years), Shark Bay, Mt Augustus. We have a couple of trips planned and booked, this school holidays we are heading up to Shark Bay Steep Point and Peron Peninsular with our great friends the Marlows. Next year we have a trip up through the centre of WA planned with family. Mt Augustus, Karijini, Millstream/Chichester, Cossack/Point Samson, Old Onslow, Exmouth is the plan at the moment with our Cousin Giselle and Andrew with their three boys.
Recently we hired a Challenge camper trailer from Campers on the Run here in Canningvale and went up to Wooleen Station stopping at Port Denison, Port Gregory, Wooleen and Moora (I will put that in as a trip soon, and will also go back in time and blog the other trips when I get time).
The start of this year 2012 was a bit of a rough one for us, a lump under the right side of my jaw was found to be a lymph node with cancer cells in it. Good news though, it was found and removed followed up by six weeks of radiation treatment and hopefully it will be all good now. I am still recovering from the rad treatment but getting stronger.
So now we are hoping to be able to get out and go see more of this magnificent country of ours. A camper trailer/caravan is on the cards, we are hiring different types when we can to see what sort of layout etc works for us with the intention of buying something to do maybe even "THE LAP"!
Will keep you posted.

Jac Thanks for the link to your blog Shane, looking forward to reading a bit about your past travels and it will be great to hear about your upcoming trips. We're going to write a post soon introducing "Jules" and "Stella", the troopie and our camper trailer, so maybe we can convince you of the beauty of a Cub! Thanks heaps for your detailed comment on our blog recently, there were some really good tips in there and we're going to look into the spots you mentioned in more detail. Please keep the tips and comments coming, loving it!
