Bienvenue!
Day one has been a bit of a whirlwind as recover from an 11 hour flight and a 9 hour time change. Luckily Andrew has not skipped a beat and has maintained his easy going demeanor. He made lots of friends on the flight and was rather entertained by the infant accommodations provided by United Airlines. (See Photo Library)
Despite waiting to exit the aircraft last, we were able to cut the long passport line (thanks to Andrew) and exit the airport with our 3 suitcases, 2 backpacks and 1 stroller.
Our transition from airport to apartment was seemless and allowed mom and dad to gawk at the lovely city in the rain while Andrew slept. (surprise)
After a cozy, much needed 3 hour nap, we set out to see our neighborhood, get an Eiffel close up and find some take out french fare.
We fell asleep to the ambient sounds of Rue de Champ de Mars and Andrew's portable sound machine. A perfect mix of old and new culture. Our views of the Eiffel Tower aglow from our apartment seemed slightly surreal and magical. Maybe we're just sleep deprived...
