Got on the train and had one of the most enduring experiences of my life. Man this train was cold! Its alright when its hot, but when its cold its painful. Had everything wrapped up like you woundnt believe but the carriage was still freezing despite all the windows shut etc, there was a draft getting in somewhere. Granted we were up north, hurtling through the countryside at a silly speed and I had no blanket, but I was freeeezing. Had my hood pulled tight as I could so it was just a small hole, my scarf wrapped around nose and mose, my other scarf round my next, my eyes covered by my sleeping mask, everything tucked in round the waist and same for the trousers in socks, and my hands had gloves on. I kept needing the toilet too, so clambering down from the top bunk and walking to the toilet was always a pain. Coming back meant I lost my what heat I had amassed. God forbid if I didn't meet mother Terasa… haha like seriously what would happened?!!!
Had a nice walk to find some accommodation, was good to stretch my legs and the sun was shining. Never mind a long walk to get to where I need to go. 1 I have a map, 2 I save money and 3 I've got nothing else to do! May as well save money. Sometimes it just feels like an orienteering task at dewart hill or something, and is actually quite gratifying sussing a map out and getting yourself from A to B. Had a gander round for accommodation, and stopped for a thali. Got up out my chair when I was done and noticed my bag cover was gone :( retraced my steps but couldn't find it. Musnt have pulled the strings tight enough so it wasn't holding on, this sometimes happens but it donest go away as its kind of hooked onto the top of the bag. But since my bag is getting smaller over time the top of the bag doesn't protrude up, but slopes down, so it must have fell off. Found a place for 150rs a night and chilled. Thought I'd treat my self to the delicacy of the trip, the hallowed nutella pancake! I still had one banana left in my pancake, and craftily cut it into pieces and hoyed it in. What a meal!!!!
Later on went for another thali but this time at a different place, and was even nicer, with much better service also. Was so tasty with a few different dishes, rice and four chapattis for 50rs! Such a bargain and makes you feel so happy. Food is a big part of the day when you're a bag packer.
Seen the argy across in another restaurant, from Amritsar but didn't go over to see him, was a bit of a stern type character and I didn't really have much to say to him. When walking back I also seen a guy in a café window, and definitely recognised the face. Was adamant it was this guy from varkala who I had about 10 words with when getting some skran, he was taking a gap year like me and was doing SEA after. He was with some other wifey so I didn't bother going in and saying hello, but I'm sure it was him.

Had a really chilled day, woke up feeling like death. Had such a cold headache, and it felt so unfair as just when I got over the s***s I got a cold. Think it was because I kipped in my jumper and all my gear, and didn't let my body accustom to the heat. Couldn't just lie in all day though, so dragged my self up and checked out the swing bridge across the Ganges. Was really amazing, and the river also glowed a luminous turquoise, was weird. There's this funky building just next to it and it made for a nice picture. Got some more thalis, and done some research too.
