Wowser lots of new people checking intoday! The whole place is buzzing.
It's our last day in Mendoza, might as well sneak in a final wine tour. This time we dragged Yves along with us :)
1st place; Vistandes a modern boutique winery with art displayed. They use the beat technology around to gurantee the quality of vino. In the cellars they play Tango music, as the grandfathers used to say it makes the wine dance!
The wine here was delicious especially ther gold line of Carmenere, Malbec and Torrontes, even Dev liked it! We both enquired about shipping bottles home but they were charging over $200.
Next destination is the olive factory where they produce olive oil, pastes and cosmetics.
We were told at the hostel the tour would finish by 5pm, but our guide announced we would get back for 9pm! Heart started to beat fast...we have a bs to catch at 8.30pm. We always seem to ge ourselves into these situations!
The next vineyard was an organic biodynamic run. The moon determines when to cut and add fertiliser.
The next place is closer to our hostel so we decded to get a cab from their to get back in time. We ended up visiting the same chocolate factory as yesterday, so we skipped the talk and went straight for the sampling!
Panicking the taxi finally came but te drive was soooo slow. Usually they drive like maniacs, the one time we needed them to go fast they go super slow. We still needed to stop off at the bank to get money to pay for the hostel.
When we finally got to the hostel we ran inside and quickly packed, paid and said bye to John! Poor driver had to load our bags he was out of breath andbim the car we kept harrasing him to go faster! We still needed to buy our bus ticket.
Wohooo we made it! Turns out stupid bus was delayed! 18hour bus journey to Salta...movie time, played Fast and the Furious 5 which was filmed in Rio de Janerio : )
Arrived in Salta to find that we had missed our bus! Next bus is 6 hours away. All of a sudden there was a big roar inside the terminal, people shouting! Turns out Argentina and Brazil were playing against each other in a big footy match.
6 hours later and we board the most uncomfortable bus! It's super squashed and freezing cold. They even asked for money to put your bag in the baggage compartment!
Need a Valium!
