Today was my first Saturday here in beautiful Sofia & also the first day of Autumn! The sun was shining high in the sky this morning. I could feel those sun rays sparkling on my face as I sat out on our balcony enjoying my breakfast. The morning started off with crisp sun and a cool breeze. PERFECT Fall weather! With not very much planned for my day I just took it easy and went with the flow. Lourdes & I walked over to HIT, a grocery store close by that carries products from all over Europe. It's a pretty cool store, nothing special though. Johanna would be so proud though, OMG, the sparkling water was only 69лев a botttle! HUGE bottles too. I was pretty excited :)
After we got home I helped Mrs.Munsey prepare lunch for the whole fam bam. She is such an amazing woman. I was thinking about this earlier. If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't be here. And I don't mean here as in Bulgaria, I mean on earth. If it wasn't for her giving life to Pastor Sheila, who founded the church everyone of my siblings and I were raised in, who knows if my mother would have given me life. It's crazy to think that my whole life could be completely different if this ONE woman hadn't made the decision to give her life to the Lord. My God, you are so incredible. One decision changed the course of the world, in all honesty. She really has changed the lives of hundreds of thousands, and her legacy will live on for eternity.
Anywho, I went to the thrift store Mania which is right across the street from our apartment complex. IT.WAS.AWESOME!! I had a minor dilema with the lanuage barrier and with the fact that you pay by the kg. The photo is of my purchases. Drum roll please for the grand total!!! 15лев!!! Which is 10 US dollars! DEALS!!
I will definitely be returning to Mania (:
Before ending our night we spontenously decided "Hey, let's go to the movies"! So we jumped in the car 5 minutes before the movie started, and we made it there in 4! Thanks to Chrissy the speed racer. Hahah. We saw Stolen. It was pretty violent, and I am not one for violence, especially when people are hurting children. I don't like violence in general, not in movies, not in person so it wasn't that easy for me to watch. But, the ending was really good so that made up for the other 2 hours of the film!
I have to note, Mr.Owen, my Journalism teacher, gave us a warm up question that is very relivent to the violence in the movie. He asked if we believe movies decensitize people to violence. In a sense I can agree with the fact that movies do make us as a society more accepting to violence, but for me, that does not go. It makes me more angry when I see it. It makes me want to stop the violence. I just wish everyone could love one another, spread the love that everyone of us has in our hearts. God loves us unconditionally, each and everyone of us. We want to be God like, don't we? We want to be better people each and everyday, don't we? The first step is loving ourselves, and naturally loving others will follow.
Enough of my preaching, off to bed! Until next time!
Au Revior moi! Xoxo.
