Hello family and friends,
My apologies for it being weeks since my last post. It is amazing how fast time flies once you get into a groove. Some of the major updates include the purchase of our washer/dryer, dishwasher, and refrigerator, painter has been hired and starts this week, Vinny got a muzzle after a little talk with the Po-Po, business to become citizens here continues to be a battle, and I have a daily routine that I am starting to enjoy.
Since our Pensicola trip, we have not ventured out very much. Last weekend we did take a 2 hour road trip to the nearest IKEA. I love and hate IKEA at the same time. Their furniture is definitely affordable and modern, but some of it looks too affordable and cheap. We had intentions of purchasing a living room entertainment center and some other nick-knack items, but after a long walk through, it was evident that we needed our furniture first before making any major purchases. We didn't leave empty handed though, we purchased a little kitchen eating table that folds down for easy storage.
We would love to travel more but creating our dream apartment is going to be pricey, so for now it will be little road trips. We are excited that our 1-year Anniversary is coming up, which means a weeklong vacation for us! Still have not decided where we are going to go yet, but by the end of this week we should have that booked. Yeaaaa for traveling!
Between now and then, we need to find a home for Vinny while we travel. We met some very nice people in the street that told us about their kennel. Assuming it is not outrageously expensive and relatively close, I think we will go with their suggestion.
For those wondering about the muzzle situation, two weeks ago Hector and I were outside our apartment when a group of police approached us. They said Vinny was a dangerous breed, and all dangerous breeds must have a muzzle and be kept on a leash shorter than a foot. We weren't even allowed to finish our walk. The guy that was talking the whole time was a jerk, the others didn't really seem to care that he wasn't on a short leash or a muzzle. Poor Hector had to listen to me complain for the next hour or so. The next day, Christmas Eve, we searched for a muzzle but were unable to find one. For the next week I was hiding from the police. Vinny hates his muzzle but tolerates it while we walk. Once I get to the park I take it off him. The good news is, after researching the law our leash does not need to be that short. It needs to be less than 2 meters, which ours is 1.9 meters. Take that cranky Po-Po man!
I will make my blog apart of my weekly routine, maybe every Sunday or Monday. Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the New Year! Love to everyone!
