Merry Christmas from Thailand to our friends.
I only have a quick second to write to you all. Gavin and I just said our good-byes to Myron as he is heading back to Canada today. Gavin, Myron, and I went to Khoa Sok National Park for a couple of days. It is in the jungle and you definitely feel it. The cicatas are so loud, the spiders - very big. We went on an adventurous trek into the jungle and went caving. We had to wade through muddy rivers and put our bags above our heads to keep our stuff dry. It was the type of river that you wonder what could possibly be living in it - I specifically didn't ask - what I don't know won't mess with my head. We also went caving into this large cave with many thousands of bats, we had to swim through these tight cliffy rivens, it was a bit unnerving. We ended up coming out of the cave at a different spot - it was too cool. We also rode elephants - we all rode on the necks of our elephants - they were so gentle and yet so strong -and man can they climb. I was nearly s***ting myself on some of the terrain.
We then went and had some very civilized days in Phuket before Myron had to go back. We saw Muay Thai Boxing -sat right at the ring side so we even get dripped on by the boxers - even a hoark or two - gross hey. Gavin loved it. We fed hundreds of monkeys and Myron even got attacked.
What can I say - its been crazy, beautiful, awe inspiring, terrifying, and most of all - a trip that has had a profound impact on my soul.
I miss you guys like crazy, wishing you were all with me, but alas some things are meant to be done apart. I have made sure Gavin and Rob have read all the comments - thank you Iris for your sweet letter to Gavin - he really appreciated it. Til next time, take care.
