Hi all

Just to catch you up on Monday's events.

Rained all day in Dublin and surrounding counties. Worst rainfall they have had. They had the normal total accumulation of rainfall for the month of October in 6 hours. They had flash floods, sadly 3 people killed. One woman drowned in her basement apartment on Parnell Street which I was just on the other day.

I had breakfast in the hotel and then packed myself up and went downstairs and the front desk called me a cab to take me to the Herts rental car place. I got there for 12 euro and got my rental car which is a Ford Focus Diesel. All I can say is it is a good thing I got full insurance on this thing!!! 10 minutes after I left the GPS had me going down this super narrow street that people park on the sidewalks to make it even narrower. I was heading down and another car was coming toward me I tried to move over to let him pass, looking to miss parked cars but I missed seeing the light pole! Bang went the mirror, luckily it folded up on itself but the cover came off and I looked but could not find it. This on top of the pouring rain had me so nervous!

I finally got out to the main highway and then my GPS said the battery was low. That is when I found out the cigarette lighter didn't work... Argggggg
After driving white knuckled the next 2 1/2 hours I finally made it to Waterford and was never more happy! I went in and checked in and like I didn't need more to go wrong, on the way following the lady to my room my water bottle filled with RED pomegranate fiber juice fell from my full hands and the lid came off on their nice, who knows how old carpet. I was mortified and wanted to clean it myself but she kept saying it was ok. I know they were thinking stupid American! They were very kind though.

I got to my room and fell asleep about an hour. I got up and went downstairs and had coffee in the bar. It is more of a grand sitting room with a small bar. Went back up to my room (still pouring outside) and decided to take a bath in the huge claw foot tub. I brought the bath salt fizzy my friend Amy gave me for my birthday, it was so nice! I stayed in there a while the got dresses. I am glad I decided to bring some dressy pants because there is a dress code for dinner. I got my dinner which was beef with a goat cheese. I was not feeling well so could not eat much. I ended up going to bed and then I got up about 3:00 am and updated the blog for the day before and called my hubby.
