After a hectic and exhausting couple of days of war themed sightseeing around Saigon, mainly a visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels and the War remnants museum, we high tailed it out of town by heading south to the Mekong Delta, We were driven out through the endless padi fields that went for hours and hours, whilst taking in some local village craft, lunch, a crocodile farm and witnessed a village dispute that involved lots of men shouting and running after each other waving machete's, knives and any blunt wooden instruments they could lay there hands on. (I had told TJ not to talk to the locals!).
After a night on a floating hotel that felt like it was sinking more than it was floating, the following morning we woke to take in the sunrise across the Mekong before a dull temple tour and then cruising 8 hours up the Mekong towards Phnom Penh. A great experience and good bunch of fellower travellers to sink a few beers with and spin a few tails whilst waving to the Cambodian kids who live on the waters edge and can't help themselves to come and shout and wave hello.
