By this stage in our travels we had reached a bit if travel fatigue after being away for nearly 5 months so it was nice to be able to take it easy & catch up with almost all of our friends living in London.
Kate headed to London for a girls night with Cate & Kath getting stuck into red wine at their place & local pub in East Dulwich & Peter headed back to Glasgow to spend some more time caring for his Dad & hanging out with Iain & Stephen. ( read an absolute bender with Iain & Stephen after watching the Scottish/Italy football European cup qualifier game in the Dolphin in the West End!! :-) This was the 1st time we had been apart for the whole time we had been away which was a bit strange!
We then spent a couple of days at Wattsy & Kate's gorgeous newly renovated apartment in Wimbledon & it was so great to catch up on their news, celebrate the anticipated arrival of number 2 & spend more time getting to know Matilda & Kate.
We also checked out the Tate Modern which was pretty cool but Kate had a bad sore throat & was feeling a bit off so we took it pretty easy for a couple of days.We then headed to Cate, Kath & Stu's place for a night to wow the with Poidda's secret Burrito recipe which never fails to impress & laugh & catch up on everyone's news over some drinks or two..
The next day we just made it in time to the Brazilian embassy for Kate's visa & then wandered around Soho, Convent Gardens, & Kate checked out the National Portrait Gallery ( the photography exhibition was fab and I loved some of the famous portraits esp a series of 3 photos of john lennon & yoko.
We then headed to KD's place in North Clapham to meet Michaeh & enjoyed dinner at a little Italian place & catching up on their news & travels through South America!
The next day we headed out to South Kensington & Kate checked out the Victoria Albert museum whilst Peter wandered around the local area. Kate adored the " Golden Age of Couture" exhibition of fashion from the 1940's, the clothes, fashion photography & film footage of such a glam era!
We then headed out in Soho for some drinks with KD & her friends & then had drinks & with some of Peter's oldest friends from school days Johhny Cush & Albie & their gorgeous partners Simone & Maria. This was the 1st time Kate had met everyone & the first time Peter had met Simone. We had a hilarious night in a bar, restaurant, Italian coffee joint & then back to the bar again which turned into a rather large one after Simone & Kate discovered & celebrated their shared love of Mojitos & Cush & Peter started catching up on old times… ending up with us leaving Simone's place in Brixton at 4.45am!!!! We had a brilliant night with you guys & look forward to you hopefully coming to Australia for a visit soon!
Moving on to Cate & Stu's place & pulling up for lunch that same day with Kyle & Kyrennia proved tres difficult for our poor old man Poidda even after some hearty grub in Borough Markets so he retired for a nana nap while Kate kicked on & had brilliant chats & such a laugh catching with Kyle & Kyrennia at one of K's fave wine bars.
That night we had our planned "Big one" that we had been looking forward to for a long time! A couple of our friends couldn't make it which changed our plans a bit as we were heading out to a Hed Kandi night at Pacha which we didn't end up doing but we still managed to have such a fun big night in & some silliness with Cate, Stu & Kath!We ended our fabulous weekend recovering at their local pub which again ended up being a much bigger night that expected! ahhh love you guys xx.
We had such a wonderful week spending time with such dear friends that we haven't seen for so long, but time & distance hasn't changed a thing! We love you all lots & thank you all for taking us in & showing us such a great time. We look forward to the next time!
Jen so sorry we didn't get to catch up but so excited about your engagement news with James! We look forward to meeting him soon x
