Hi I'm getting all confused now - I think some of the entries have got the wrong headings - I'm a bit addled by the sun!! Anyway last thing I wrote we were heading to Tauranga and Mount Mungahi (I think that's how you spell it!) We spent the morning on the beach, had lunch in the van then headed out. The journey was ok as we put the portable DVD on for the boys - I had to go up front halfway through as I was feeling queasy in the back! Arrived at the Mount and found our campsite - unfortunately so had the rest of New Zealand and we managed to get the last camper site! It's an amazing site just under the mount and a stone's throw from the beach, some warm salt water pools and the shops and cafes. It was extremely busy and most of the people on it seemed to be permanent local campers, with static caravans, awnings, fridges, sofas etc. all the kit!! We could practically touch our neighbours though so it wasn't that pleasant. We desperately needed to supermarket shop so Al went off in the van to do that and I took the boys to the saltwater pools - they were amazing and supposed to have healing properties, there was everything from a toddler pool to a large swimming pool to a spa pool it was great and they were so warm so I was in my element. We hung out there til Al met us then went back to the van for tea. Struggled to get the boys to sleep (joe anyway) as it was so noisy and the icecream van complete with music rolled up just as we put them to bed and parked just next to our van!! Took Joe a while to drop off! We decided that we probably wouldn't stay another night! In the morning went out for breaskfast as the cafes were so close then headed off just down the coast to Papamoe beach. Not a lot here apart from a beach but the site is much nicer - still busy and full of resident campers but more space. There's also a huge jumping pillow which the boys loved and a playground. We headed straight down the beach and spent most of the day there - Al and I managed to get quite convincingly burnt despite trying to be really careful! Then spent a lazy few hours back at the van reading and playing. Decided again to move on this morning as we're in no fit state to spend another day on the beach. We're heading to Rotorua - heart of the volcanic activity, alot more touristy but should be lots for the boys to enjoy and hopefully we'll spend 2 or 3 nights there. Speak soon.
