So we made it, the flight wasn't too bad, the boys were entertained by their very own TV screen in front of them and couldn't believe that mum didn't nag them to turn it off! They managed to sleep a bit - we didn't!! They were awake again at 2.30am and we spent the next 4 hours trying to keep them quiet! - slightly taxing. The hotel is great, quite quirky and we have a sea view. The weather's warm and sunny, spent yesterday on the beach, on the peir riding the ferris wheel and visited the aquarium where we could touch some of the exhibits. Went out again in the evening to do the ferris wheel by night 'cause it was all lit up and looked amazing. Unfortunately Joe fell asleep on the way to the peir so he missed the experience! Boys were both tucked up by 6.00 which meant that they were awake again at 3am, luckily we'd had a bit more sleep too - the portable DVD player is being well used!! Just come back from our super-sized breakfast, won't need to eat again today! The boys are desperate to head down the beach, we want to hire bikes and explore a bit - hopefully we can do a bit of both. We're off to NZ this evening, just got used to the time here and it's going to be all change again - I'm sure we'll cope I think we arrive in Auckland 5.45am so hopefully they will sleep most of the flight. I must admit my opinion of America hasn't changed, haven't met anyone friendly yet, don't think we'll be back in a hurry but it's been an experience. Will try to attach some photos next time.
