Yes, cows. Apparently they roam the mountainside like the ones in Switzerland.
We stopped at one of the restaurants & had dumplings, spring rolls, marinated beef & miso soup, then back down in the cable car. What a difference. The mist & wind had cleared & I wasn't worried at all. We could see the construction of a huge bridge that will go right across the bay. We were also above the airport & it was pretty amazing to watch the planes landing & taking off below us. What a spectacular view!
Once again, we were on one of the super-fast, super squashed-in trains back to the hotel to grab our harbour cruise tickets. There was some confusion about which pier we were supposed to be at, but our taxi drove like a maniac to get us there on time. When we arrived, there was no boat. No ticket box. No Information Centre. We hiked it over to a food outlet to ask & were told we were in the right place, but there was nothing there except for some karaoke singers & a bride having her photo taken. Scott went one way & I walked back down the pier to find a very small docking sign. Lucky I can whistle, as Scott heard it from across the Square & came running. The boat had appeared from nowhere. I'm pretty sure we got on the wrong one, as I had booked the junk with red sails, & this had blue. The pier operators took our tickets anyway, then next minute, the junk with the red sails came in to dock! Oh well.
What a lovely evening, warm, no rain, a welcome drink & that perfect feeling of being on the water. How I miss sailing.
What a different city at night. The old, dilapidated buildings fade away & are masked by the flashing laser light shows & neon signs along the shoreline. Such a clean city though, no graffiti or rubbish.
We could've stayed on board all night.
Caught another taxi to the Night Markets, nothing to rave about, then off to Knutsford Terrace, which runs alongside our hotel to stop at one of the many bars & restaurants. Chatted to the manager there about life in HK. Made it home about midnight. Another great day.
